Every Scouting Youth deserves a TRAINED LEADER!

All Registered Scouters must take Youth Protection Training (Y01), and it must be valid through the entire charter year – annual certification.  Many parents also benefit from this training.

In addition to the annual YPT, all Scouting positions have required training.   See Scouting.org for a complete list of position trained requirements.  Unit Committee Members/Chairs, Chartered Organization Representatives, and Merit Badge Counselors can complete all required training online.   Many of these may also be offered in a classroom option.

All direct contact leaders (Den Leaders, Cubmasters, Scoutmasters, Advisors, Skippers/Mates) must also complete Hazardous Weather Training (SCO_800), also online, and keep it up to date.  Pack and Troop direct contact leaders all require a combination of in-person and online training.  For the Troop – Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills (IOLS, S11).  For the Pack –  one person on a camping trip must complete Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO, C32)  .

Below are National Pike’s offerings of the in-person training.
