Dollars for Doers

Multiply Your Impact: Volunteer Grants & Matching Gifts

Many companies in Central Maryland offer matching gifts and volunteer grant programs—also known as Dollars for Doers—that support the causes their employees care about. If you volunteer with Scouting, your employer may donate money for every hour you give.

That means your time at weekly meetings, weekend campouts, and summer programs could translate into funding that helps us maintain camp properties, offer scholarships to Scouts in need, and provide materials that help grow Scouting across Central Maryland.

How Volunteer Grants Work

  • Companies donate money based on your volunteer hours—typically $10 to $25 per hour.
  • Most programs require just 5 to 20 hours annually to qualify.
  • Your contributions of time can lead to thousands of dollars for Scouting each year.

Scouting Volunteer Time Adds Up

  • Weekly meetings: 1.5–2 hours
  • Weekend camping trip: 20+ hours
  • Cub Scout Day Camp (Mon–Fri): 45 hours
  • Summer Camp Week (Sun–Sat): 84 hours

Just a few hours can make a big difference—both in the lives of Scouts and in financial support for our programs.

Take Action
