Our units welcomed 765 new Scouts across the Baltimore Area Council in August and September! Thank you to the volunteers and leaders helping new families get started. As recruitment continues, a few simple steps can help keep those families connected and your unit ready for the year ahead.

There’s still time to invite families to an open house or an upcoming meeting. Encourage your Scouts to bring a friend so they can experience the fun firsthand. Your District Executive can help with recruitment plans and materials.

December Renewals: Updated Fees and No Lapse Period
For registrations renewing December 31, 2026, renewal fees are:
- Youth: $169 for 12 months, including the $85 national fee and $84 council fee. Membership is valid through December 31, 2027.
- Adults: $71 for 12 months, including the $65 national fee and $6 council fee. Membership is valid through December 31, 2027.
- Units: $119 for 14 months, with unit registration valid through February 28, 2028.
Beginning with December renewals, there will no longer be a lapse period. Youth, adults, and units that do not renew by the end of December will need to submit a new application to reregister. Plan ahead, communicate the updated fees to families, and complete renewals before registrations expire.
