Broad Creek News
With fewer than 100 days until summer staff arrive, there’s a real energy building at Broad Creek. Campsites are filling, programs are evolving, and our team is hard at work preparing for a summer that’s bigger, better, and more hands-on than ever before.
Here’s what you need to know!
Summer camp at Broad Creek is shaping up to be one for the books.
Spots are going fast. Week 1 (June 28–July 5) has a limited number of provisional slots remaining and is now closed to new Unit deposits. If your Unit hasn’t locked in plans yet, now’s the time to secure your spot in Week 2, 3, or 4.
A Revamped Merit Badge Schedule
Based on feedback from Scouts and leaders, all 2026 merit badges will operate on a block schedule. That means:
Longer instructional periods
More interactive, hands-on learning
Higher-quality experiences
Fewer rushed transitions
The goal? Depth over dash. More time to build skills. More time to learn from experts. More time to grow.
Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.

Campmaster Training
Throughout the year, Broad Creek Scout Reservation will see just over 25,000 people walk through our gates, between weekend camping, trainings, district activities, non-Scout groups, and summer camps. This is made possible, in no small part, by our teams of camp masters who provide customer support every weekend of the year.
We could all use some more time at Broad Creek, and we invite YOU to try “campmastering” for a weekend. Come with a group of friends, or come by yourself, and we can slot you into a crew. We’ll show you the ropes, and we know you will have a great time assisting units and spending time with other volunteers for the weekend.
For more information, reach out to Campmaster Chair, Ken Bouchat, or Camping Director, Alex Stout.
