Home Stretch for Membership: Give the Gift of Scouting This Holiday Season
December Letter from the Scout Executive, Kenn Miller
Dear Scouting Families, Friends, and Supporters,
As we approach the end of another incredible fall season, I want to take a moment to reflect on the hard work and dedication you’ve all shown in helping us grow Scouting in our community. Thanks to your enthusiasm and efforts, we are so close to achieving something extraordinary: recruiting 1,800 new Scouts this fall!
This is a remarkable milestone, and I know we can reach it together. With just a few weeks left before the holidays, now is the perfect time to share the joy of Scouting with others. Think about how Scouting has positively impacted your life or your family’s—whether it’s the lifelong friendships, the character-building experiences, or the unforgettable adventures. These are gifts that truly last a lifetime.
As we enter this season of giving, I encourage you to consider the gift of Scouting for a young person in your life. Do you know a child, a grandchild, a neighbor, or a friend who would benefit from the fun and growth Scouting offers? Maybe they’ve expressed interest in camping, learning new skills, or giving back to their community. Or perhaps they’d enjoy the opportunity to meet new friends and discover their own potential.
The beauty of Scouting is that it’s for everyone, and there’s always room for one more around the campfire. Imagine the look on a child’s face as they open the door to a world of adventure, leadership, and learning. That’s the gift we’re giving with every new Scout we welcome into our family.
Let’s make this holiday season unforgettable by reaching our goal of 1,800 new Scouts. Together, we can inspire the next generation of leaders, problem-solvers, and changemakers. Thank you for your passion, your energy, and your commitment to our mission.
If you know a family or youth who would like to learn more about Scouting, please don’t hesitate to reach out or go to www.beascout.org to find the Scouting programs in your area. Let’s work together to make this holiday season a time of growth, joy, and opportunity.
As always, if you have any questions or comments let me know.
Happy Holidays,
Kenn Miller
