Renewing your Scouting membership is an essential step to ensuring you continue to enjoy all the benefits and adventures Scouting has to offer. The process is simple, and you can do it conveniently online. Here’s a quick guide to walk you through the renewal process, as featured in our latest Membership Monday video:
Step 1: Log In to Your My.Scouting Account
Start by logging in to your My.Scouting account. Once logged in, you’ll notice a renewal reminder in the upper-right corner if your registration is due within two months. Additionally, you’ll receive an email with a direct link to start the renewal process.
Step 2: Access Your Renewal Notification
Click on the notification icon in your account and open the message. Review the information carefully to ensure accuracy. If there are multiple renewals in your account, such as for family members, you’ll need to process them one at a time.
Step 3: Choose Renewal Options
For each individual, you can:
- Opt-out of auto-renewal if they aren’t planning to renew.
- Start the renewal process to continue their membership.
Step 4: Review Details
Double-check membership details like the unit (e.g., Troop 868) and the primary position. Once everything looks good, proceed to payment.
Step 5: Agree to Terms and Payment Summary
Before finalizing payment:
- Agree to the terms and conditions (the same ones signed when you joined Scouting).
- Review the payment summary. If you don’t wish to subscribe to Scout Life magazine, simply uncheck the box to adjust the total amount.
Step 6: Make Your Payment
Enter your credit card details. Ensure the billing address matches your credit card’s information. If it’s different, update it accordingly. Prefer to pay through your local council? Select the option to print a manual pay PDF and bring it to your council office.
Step 7: Complete the Process
After submitting your payment:
- A receipt will appear on the confirmation screen.
- Click “Complete Registration” to finalize your renewal.
Congratulations! Your membership is now renewed for another year, and you’re ready to embark on new Scouting adventures.
