Finance Committee

The River Hawk finance committee augments the Baltimore Area Council’s budgetary income by extending various Council initiatives to the local Scouting units.

River Hawk fulfills its mission to help fund Scouting by promoting the Annual Appeal campaign, leadership breakfast, and popcorn and camp card sales programs established by Baltimore Area Council.

Popcorn

Every year River Hawk District offers the Popcorn sales program to help fund crucial Scouting programs.  Scouts, Units, and Council all benefit from this direct sales program.

For more information contact the River Hawk Popcorn Kernel, Mike Danko.

Unit Fundraising

For any fundraising done for a unit, a unit fundraising application is to be submitted to council for approval.  This includes all packs, troops, crews, ships, and friends of groups.  If you aren’t sure, be safe and contact Debi Hayes, VC of Finance.

In an effort to make things easier to submit, we have created an online form located at https://forms.office.com/r/jnbnZqRkBX.

We want to reiterate to you that council does not and will not ask for a percentage of sales, but it’s a way to ensure that any fundraising meets the standards set by National as it does reflect on the entire Scouting program.

Annual Appeal

The Annual Appeal (formerly Friends of Scouting) helps raise the funds necessary for the Baltimore Area Council to support more than 12,000 youth members – investing over $250 per Scout!  That adds up to a lot of money, but if we all pitch in what we can, we can provide a quality program to every young person who wants to be a Scout.

Support Scouting

River Hawk District has many exciting opportunities for you to help support our Scouts and Venturers financially, including Special Events, Endowment, Friends of Scouting, United Way support, and Popcorn Sales.  The dollars we raise directly support the youth we serve in our programs. We are committed to raising funds to ensure that the Scouting and Venturing program in Anne Arundel County area can continue to grow and that we can continue to offer our youth the quality program they deserve.
